This was one of the most Iconic and famous songs since Hatsune Miku debut from the late 2000’s. It is seen as a Vocaloid classic which loved by Japanese fans and international fans. Romeo and Cinderella is a mature coming of age, romance/break up song sung by Hatsune Miku who plays the role of a young high school girl who sings about her love life with her lover and how she at first believes that her first romance is like fairytale story just like the story of Cinderella and how she doesn’t want it to end up in a tragedy. However as time goes by she realises that her lover is filled with flaws and doesn’t see her for who she is but only uses and “loves” her physically. In result she realises that maybe she was still too young and begins to lose feelings towards him.

World’s End Dancehall

RIP to the glorious creator of this song Wowaka-san. One of the most legendary Vocaloid producer who died due to heart failure (2019) who will now be the most beloved producers in Vocaloid history. World End Dancehall is an intense rock/rap song about two girls played by Hatsune Miku and Megurine Luka and how society pressures these two girls to be competitive with each other till the point that it psychologically oppresses them.

Meltdown is another iconic song from late 2000’s with uses contemporary and neo pop sounds. Meltdown is a song about depression and suicide from the perspective of a young seriously ill girl played by Kagamine Rin. Instead of stating the obvious the song starts of with the girl having a monologue with arguing with her past demons in a mental hospital stating that they keep strangling her, second is her standing on top of building and looking down imaging its a nuclear reactor (used to initiate and control a fission nuclear chain reaction or nuclear fusion reactions) and the final is her flying across the city as if she’s a ghost, in conclusion she killed herself.

Cantarella

Cantarella is a dark romance song that uses beautiful classical orchestral instrumentals. Cantarella tells the story of young nobleman played by Kaito who was betrothed to young noblewoman played by Hatsune Miku from a neighbouring kingdom. As the two reunited the nobleman develops obsessive tendencies towards the noblewoman and gives her a love potion/poison known as “Cantarella”. This song is heavily influcenced by famous gothic romance stories and cases specifically the infamous Cesare and Lucrezia Borgia, Two betrothed cousins in 1500’s Italy who were notorious by murdering people using poison.

Gothic and Loneliness is a theatrical poetic masterpiece sung by Kagamine Rin that uses opera and ballad style techniques and sounds. The song tells the grim dark story of an enchantress who mysteriously lost the love her life years ago and now inhabits a mansion deep in a forest, where she lures different victims in, in hope that one of them will stay with her forever as a replacement. However her hostages do attempt to leave the mansion which causes the enchantress to go insane and begins to consume their souls and continues to wait for her next victim. She goes mad with the idea finding true love but ends up ending other people’s lives.

The song tells the story of a stray cat played by Kagamine Len falling in love with a pet cat of a wealthy family played by Gumi and how he persuade her that being cat is all about being free and asks to run away with her. However she rejects his offer explaining her side that her owners treat her a family so it be hard for her to leave them.

A jazzy song sung by Hatsune Miku who plays the girl who’s part of a secret organisation and is a thief who metaphorically destroy people’s hearts and emotions. However she suddenly falls for one of her targets but doesn’t understand the true meaning of love and has never experience sure feelings before and her bosses treat her like a machine.

“The Night Series” is a fan-made Vocaloid franchise written and composed by Hitoshizuku-P a talented composer well known for creating Broadway musical like songs to create different stories and for her incredible art designs. The Nights series is a psychological gothic thriller song series about a young girl who finds herself lost in the woods she wanders to reach a mysterious manor. She is soon welcomed in by the lord and lady of the house, their 3 children, their butler and maid. Everything seems innocent until the girl realises that she’s trapped and held prisoner in an alternative universe where these people are held eternally in a theatre and forced to do a play with zero ending. The girl goes mad and murders the other actors in order to break the cycle.

The song is written by a popular Vocaloid known as Kikuo who’s well for his extreme psychological and disturbing songs. This horrific tragic story follows a young girl played by Hatsune Miku who forced by her parents and teachers to be absolute perfection and how it affects her mental health. The song uses the idea of the girl wearing a choker necklace (Sign of ownership and control by her family and teachers) and how as the years past it gets tighter meaning as she grows into adulthood, she forces herself to impress everyone so hard to the point that it destroys her mind and can’t find any true happiness
